Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions, as well as troubleshooting tips in case you have trouble downloading from our website. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THROUGH THIS SECTION CAREFULLY BEFORE REPORTING.

Any reported download/mod that ends up working fine on our end will be left as is.

You can also join our Telegram and get your mods from there if the website isn’t working out for you.

• This is our repository telegram. It’s a backup of sorts. Everything shared in the Limsa Lominsa Pirates telegram gets transferred to this one.
Unvaulted Edits
• You can request edits to already existing mods or request mods to be ported from other games to XIV. This telegram runs COMPLETELY on volunteer work by the community for the community!
The Shipyard
• This is our repository telegram for edits. Everything shared in the Unvaulted Edits telegram gets transferred to this one. HAVE A USERNAME ON TELEGRAM BEFORE YOU JOIN: settings -> my account -> USERNAME If you don’t you will get kicked.
Unvaulted Public
• Where we dump/collect publicly available mods for archival purposes.

How does the service work?

Mods are provided to us by our telegram users in the Limsa Lominsa Pirates telegram (or LLP for short). You can share & request mods yourself, this is 100% a community powered project, anyone can join and start contributing. Before you do join, please make sure you set a USERNAME for yourself on telegram by settings -> my account -> USERNAME. Our bot will kick you without this.

Once the mods are shared in the LLP telegram, our small staff of less than 10 people will move the mods over to our Unvaulted Repository telegram, where we repackage, sort, categorize and upload these mods. Each category has an uploader in charge of it, and we clean these categories about once a week or so.

When a mod goes public, we move it to the Unvaulted Public telegram & remove it from the Unvaulted Repository telegram. The mod also gets removed from this website, as it becomes redundant to host here.

Please keep in mind that this is a completely free project run by people in their FREE TIME.

The mods are provided to us by the community. The staff itself does not have access to them otherwise. We are uploading as we have the time or feel like it. This is not an obligation, this is not a job, we do not make a profit off of it unlike paid modders do (cough scamming the community cough). Be patient and be kind to the uploaders as they are providing you with a service for free, expecting nothing in return, just because they want to see a better community. Contribute when you can, there are many other ways besides sharing mods.

Remember, you are not entitled to this service, and the least you can do is educate yourself on how to use it via this FAQ. Being an asshole in our telegrams and/or in our reports will just make people not want to provide this service for you. Not like most of you will read this fucking FAQ anyways lol

Where can I share/request mods?

If you would like to contribute to the hoard, or ask for a specific mod we do not have yet, you can head over to our sharing/requesting Telegram to do so. Make sure you read the rules and our guide on how to post before you do so, otherwise your post might get removed if it doesn’t follow our templates.

HOST: Buzzheavier

What files do we use Buzzheavier for?

Files over 200MB, as that’s what Catbox’s limit is.

How to use Buzzheavier?

Download Mozilla Firefox or LibreWolf as your browser.
- Firefox is one of the few browsers out there that is not based on Chromium (Google’s open source browser builder), and is much more privacy focused. Google has been putting in a lot of effort lately to stop adblockers from working properly, therefore any browser built on Chromium will hinder your adblocker’s effectiveness.
- LibreWolf is just a fork of Firefox, a little more privacy focused than Firefox already is.
- I personally use both but you don’t even need to completely switch over from your current browser, you can just use these browsers exclusively for Unvaulted.
Use uBlock Origin for your adblocker.
- uBlock Origin is open-source and is the best on the market right now for their continued efforts in fighting Google to block ads.
- It HAS to be uBlock ORIGIN. Regular uBlock is a different adblocker that has sold out quite a while ago and will let ads through.
- Adblock Plus (which a lot of you might still be using) has also sold out and is known to let companies pay their way out of getting their ads blocked. It is simply not reliable, you need uBlock Origin.
If you have the options above, you will most likely have to click on the Download link TWICE as the first time will be an ad pop-up that your adblocker has blocked, therefore nothing will happen on the first click. On the second click your download will start.

CAUTION WHEN USING BUZZHEAVIER

If you encounter the website downloading a .exe file for you, DO NOT RUN THE .EXE FILE. We only distribute .7z files (that may include .ttmp ; .ttmp2 ; .pmp ; .png ; .jpg ; .webp ; .psd), there will never ever be a time when we upload a .exe file. If you run the adblocker recommended above, you should not even run into this issue in the first place, but if somehow miraculously you still do, even though you did all that has been recommended in this troubleshooting guide, you are going to have to bite the bullet and join our Telegram group for the files.

REPORTS ABOUT WEIRD WEBSITE ADS, .EXE FILES ETC WILL BE DISCARDED IMMEDIATELY. If you refuse to read the information we put up here to help you get your setup going, we are NOT LIABLE FOR WHAT YOU MESS UP ON YOUR PC. Join the Telegram if you can’t get it functioning or you don’t trust in your basic computer knowledge to not nuke your rig.

HOST: Catbox

What files do we use Catbox for?

Files under 200MB.

Catbox downloading a file with randomized letters/numbers

This is normal. Catbox will always download files with randomized letters/numbers that will look something like: “z0vugy.7z”

Getting 404 error on Catbox

When you get this error code on a completely empty page, please report it as we have to reupload the file.

Can’t connect to Catbox/Connection times out

This means that Catbox is currently down, there’s absolutely NOTHING I can do about this as this is an issue on Catbox’s end. For the love of whatever WAIT for a few hours for the service to come back. DO NOT report links when this is happening, there’s genuinely nothing I can do for you, your report will just get thrown out and the service will come back on its own in a few hours.

Can’t download at all from Catbox

You might want to try using a VPN and hop around to random locations/countries. It might just be your network issue. This will be something you’ll have to figure out for yourself as this is a unique issue to you.

Virus Warning

Virus warnings may happen with .rar, .zip AND .7z files. Windows Defender flags a file with an !ml ending Trojan, which means machine learned. It’s Defender’s automated detection feature (probably the AI-driven adaptive protection). Every case we know of has been a false positive. We haven’t run into an actual virus in any compressed files.

There’s nothing the team can do about this as it is a Windows Defender issue.

If this happens to you please scan the file or the download link on https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ to make sure it’s a false positive. (You might have to allow it out of quarantine first if Defender removed the file right away.) Also to note, every file we upload here gets repackaged by the Unvaulted uploading team, therefore if there really was a virus we would have already caught it.

REPORTS ABOUT VIRUS WARNINGS WILL BE DISCARDED IMMEDIATELY. (If you are not comfortable trusting the team, even after scanning the file with Virustotal and reading all the reasons as to why this is happening above, unfortunately we can’t help you further.)

File Disappears After Downloading

Your anti-virus probably nuked it. You will have to whitelist it or get it out of quarantine. I suggest scanning the download link with https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ before you do so.

Anti-Virus Blocks the Download Website

If you have an anti-virus program that’s not your built in Windows Defender and it blocks the host we offer our files on, you will either have to disable it, or you may join our Telegram group to get the files.

VPN

Another solution to download issues might be to use a VPN. Try connecting to different countries and see if that will fix your problem.

Unvaulted staff recommends Mullvad VPN (no logs, 5 dollars/month, a very good selection of payment options, no personal info required, etc.) AVOID any free VPNs. When you don’t pay for the product, you are the product.

Slow Download

This could happen when the host servers are overloaded. You can either wait for the file to download anyways, or return to it at a later time and try again.

If you want the mod right away join our Telegram and download it directly from there.

Browser

The website gets tested on Mozilla Firefox & LibreWolf exclusively. It’s advised you use either of these browsers since uBlock Origin works best on these and some features on our website might look off on other browsers. If anything is looking off, a feature on the website seems to be broken or you keep getting ads on our hosts despite having an adblocker, it’s probably because of your browser.

We have no intention to optimize for any other browser.

File Archiver

The team uses 7-Zip exclusively to archive mods, and we only use their .7z archive format. If you get a corruption error when you are trying to extract a file, either you

didn’t let the download finish ;
the download failed before it could finish ;
you are trying to extract the file with Winrar or other file archiver that’s not 7-Zip.

Make sure your download has finished properly, and if it has, make sure you have 7-Zip installed and you are trying to extract using that, NOT Winrar or other file archivers you might have.

Broken Mod

So you managed to download a file and extract it, but for some reason it doesn’t work like how it’s supposed to. It doesn’t show up, it breaks your game and/or character, it shows up but it’s busted/missing textures/components etc. These and any similar issues are NOT something we can fix or help you with. Your issue will either be a problem on the creator’s side or your side.

We are not here to do tech support on mods.

However, there are a couple things you can do if you run into a broken mod:

Check if the mod has received an update fixing your issue: if it has, you can request for the update in our Telegram, or someone might have already requested/shared it. If you can’t get access to the Telegram you will have to wait for us to update the website: we announce mod updates on the Change Logs page.
If the mod hasn’t been updated, you can bring up the issue with the original author.
You can also ask for troubleshooting help in our Discord, or any of the 1000+ FFXIV modding discords that have mod help channels. The problem might be on your end, and someone may or may not be able to help you.

REPORTS REFERRING TO THE FUNCTIONALITY OF A MOD WILL BE DISCARDED IMMEDIATELY.

A mod is not updated/Dawntrail ready

All of our content comes from our Telegram, and the people who share them in it. We do not otherwise have access to these mods, so if there was an update either:

Join the Telegram and request for the update ;
Wait until someone shares it and we update it here.

There is no other way for us to get our hands on updated content, please do NOT report this issue to us.

Public mods?

While you might come across public mods on here from time to time, the website was not made for archiving them. Everything is uploaded manually, and it takes a lot of time and effort. Including public mods into the equation would just be an astronomical undertaking.

There’s also the issue of limited amount of storage. For these reasons we unfortunately can’t afford to keep public mods up on the website, so they will get removed eventually. If you want to help out the uploading team, please report any mods you come across on this website that have gone free, using the “Report Issues” button under the preview picture of the mod page.

We still archive public mods in our public Telegram, so make sure to join if you would like to access the mod packs.
